Description A very unusual set of boxed (not original) racing menu holders from 1902 and 1968

Provenance The two 1902 menu holders were owned by Isaac “Jack” Barnato Joel (1862-1940) a British-South African mining magnate and then by his son Harry “Jim” Joel (1894 - 1992), who had a further two menu holders made in 1968. All four menu holders have been painted in the Joel colours (black with a scarlet cap)

Winning Races Father and then son won the following races: Derby (Sunstar in 1911), Thirst Classic Trial Stakes (1960), Derby (Royal Palace in 1967), St Leger (Light Cavalry in 1980), Grand National (Maori Venture in 1987)
